The WaterWise Garden was established in 1999
in Adelaide, South Australia.
With a keen interest in environment and water
conservation, The WaterWise Garden aims to educate gardeners about growing
waterwise plants and promote the benefits of organic gardening and organic
pest control.
To facilitate this The Water Wise Garden created Colourful
WaterWise Gardening, a CDRom guide to growing colourful low water use plants, that
incorporates organic pest control and organic gardening principles.
The WaterWise Garden wanted to create a product that was
easy to use across a wide range of operating systems, and were able to draw from a pool of
IT professionals to create software that is suitable for Unix like
systems, as well as Mac and IBM compatible PCs.
The Water Wise Garden also have an extensive network of
resources to grow and experience first-hand the suitability of the water
wise plants that they recommend.
The Water Wise Gardens high quality photography
has been recognized worldwide, with their photos reproduced in Australia, Canada,
the USA and Argentina, in educational, horticultural, gardening and
scientific publications, and on agricultural websites.
The Water Wise Garden sells their gardening software
worldwide. Their customer base includes gardeners, horticultural colleges,
municipal councils, botanic gardens and environmental shops.
